Because You're Mine by Colleen Coble

Colleen Coble
(Thomas Nelson 2017)

In this latest book by Colleen Coble, I found that I could picture and almost hear the Irish brogue of the characters. Even though Coble pulled in an apparent favorite plot catalyst, I didn't find anything truly remarkable.

The plot is a well known idea, although there were a few twists to it. I had wanted to see Alanna with a little more spunk and not as weak as she seemed to be portrayed.

The emotional depth of the characters seemed lacking, but the pace of the story stayed steady and strong.

With most books, I usually like to discover things or to experience them along with the characters. In Because You're Mine I couldn't gain a sense of the characters. The execution of the writing seemed juvenile and so much explained to the reader that I lost my enjoyment in the story.

Although not strong in the faith element, I would recommend this book as a clean read that delivers a fast-paced suspense story.
